Crescent Cottage Rose Pendants Commission
Christine requested two identical pendants featuring pink cottage roses in memory of her mother, one for herself and one for her cousin. I created a prototype; Christine liked the flowers and colors but requested a change in the overall shape. Her desire for a crescent took some thinking on my part about how to make a bail that would get the pendants to hang properly on a cord. The final pendants are enamelled copper with silver foil, gold luster, and glass beads with scalloped brass settings.
“I’ve worn my enamel piece several times and have gotten nice comments (it really works strung on a heavy black cord), and my cousin S was thrilled to get hers and planned to wear it out that night. She’s a particularly special cousin to me, and the pieces are a reminder of a special bond that we have.” - Christine
