Cherry Blossom Bowl

£210.00

Hand-pierced and -formed small enamelled copper vessel with vibrant orange, pink, and gold breakthrough enamel interior and deep blue exterior.

10 cm x 7 cm

Since the beginning of 2026, I have been exploring how various combinations of enamels with distinct physical and colour properties interact and behave differently depending on the shape, size, and thickness of the underlying metal. My practice currently alternates between jewellery and sculptural small vessel forms. I create these by piercing, forging, shaping, and fastening with cold connections such as rivets and handmade staple-like attachments rather than the more standard fabrication with solder. I enamel these pieces using a variety of traditional and unconventional enamelling techniques and embellishments with a thread of evolving natural and contemporary forms, colours, and textures as the pieces progress. This body of work prominently features layering enamels and metals to purposefully create controlled “mistakes” such as breakthough and eutectic effects. I construct the settings and findings for the jewellery with cold connections as well, an unusual approach which adds an appealing element of puzzle-solving to my process.
